Dubai loves to set records, and now the city is breaking its own by making the largest shopping mall in the world even bigger.
The Dubai Mall has become home to a new extension – and it’s one for the fashion-lovers among us. The larger Fashion Avenue is now open and we can tell you first-hand that it’s shiny, spacious and extremely fancy. The mall is calling it the “new home of luxury” and we must say that we agree wholeheartedly. It is home to 150 luxury brands including Burberry, Cartier, Ralph Lauren and Alexander McQueen. And with stunning architecture, interesting art and stylish décor, it’s not just fashion-conscious shoppers who are setting trends. There’s also a VIP valet, expert personal shoppers and an in-mall chauffeur service to make traipsing around the shops laden down with bags a thing of the past, as well as a shoe-shine service to spruce up your footwear while you shop for new ones. When you’ve worked up an appetite, you can grab a bite to eat on the sprawling terrace with lovely views of The Dubai Fountain. One of the eateries worth stopping by is world-famous Italian pasticceria (that’s cake shop to us) Cova. The Cova panettone recipe here has been jealously guarded since the beginning of the 19th century and has been passed from generation to generation. Founded in 1817, today Cova is a globally recognised brand and an institution that “celebrates tailored craftsmanship and creativity in its confectionery”.
