The former Tottenham defender moved to the Etihad Stadium this summer, with his new employer currently top of the table after scoring 21 goals in their opening six games.
Talking about City’s promising start to the campaign, Walker said: “If we keep doing the basics right, and keep performing at the level we’re performing at, hopefully we will be a force that won’t be stopped.
“We’ve got a lot of game winners and fantastic talents. It is just about consistency.
“If we keep playing at the level we are playing at I don’t think we will come across many opponents that will cause us many problems with the strike force we’ve got and, more importantly for me, (if we are) keeping clean sheets.
“We need to keep listening to the gaffer and his tactics, and we hope that will see us across the line.”
The 27-year-old Sheffield-born full-back also paid tribute to Sergio Aguero who has netted seven goals in all competitions this season – including six in the Premier League.
The Argentinian goes into Tuesday’s match against Shakhtar in the Champions League needing just one more goal to equal Eric Brook’s club record of 177.
And Walker says of his new team-mate: “To play against, he is a nightmare. Facing him for numerous seasons, he always seemed to score against us (Spurs). It was frustrating.
“Having him on the same team now is a big bonus. He is a quality player.”
And Walker claims that Guardiola’s love of attacking full-backs, proved by the further arrivals of Danilo and Benjamin Mendy summer, was a key reason for quitting Tottenham in favour of City.
Walker added: “I think that was one of the big reasons for signing here was that the gaffer likes to play the way I like to play with attacking full-backs.
“The standard of full-backs is very high as well. He is improving me as a player.
“I think it is going to push all three of us. Dani [Danilo] can play left or right, and Mendy and I are occupying each side.
“It is a good dressing room to be around. We all expect high standards from each other.”
