In transportation terms, Dubai’s got it all. From abras to trams and everything inbetween, if you’re trying to get around the city there are loads of options.
Now Careem is launching a unique way to travel in the Marina and JBR – on the back of a three-wheeled motorcycle. The Trike service is ideal for short rides and as a quick option for that last mile between public transport and home. It accommodates just one person in addition to the driver and is fitted with a seatbelt. Safety helmets are also on offer to riders. The Trikes are available between 7am and 10pm across Dubai Marina for Dhs10 per ride. The fare is valid for the first ten minutes, with Dhs1 charged for every additional minute. So if you’re looking for a new way to get from A to B, this is well worth a ride.
It’s not the only big transport news we’ve had this year, with an RTA official revealing that Dubai is “ready for flying taxis” at the end of last month. The city already tested the world’s first automatic flying taxi back in September 2017, making it the world’s first self-flying service. We may not be far off seeing the service in the sky. Mattar Al Tayer made the announcement during the opening session of this week’s Transport Congress and Exhibition. He said it is time to expand Dubai’s sprawling public transport network by using the latest technologies and innovation. Careem Trike available daily between 7am to 10pm across Dubai Marina.

Bikes like these (well, similar), used for transportation in Nigeria are called 'Okadas'!!!
